Newborn photography is one of my favorite types of sessions. So when I met baby Christian and his mom, Alexis, I knew it would be a great session.

Their Very Own Cupid

Christian is a beautiful little boy who was born on Valentines Day 2023. A baby born on the most loving day of the year was completely fitting for this family. The love his parents had for each other and him was evident. It was radiating from every corner of their cozy Sanford home. He truly was their little Cupid baby.

Helping Mom and Baby Choose Outfits for the Newborn Session

I love doing in-home newborn photography because it decreases the stress on mom, baby, and the whole family. Not only do you get to relax in your own home until the very last moment, but you also get the added bonus of a pre-session closet consultation! (No dragging a bunch of outfits to a studio, while lugging baby’s to-go bag too!)

I asked Alexis to pick out a few pieces of clothing for each family member before my arrival. When we took a look at them, I was able to guide her to the best outfits to pop on camera. Luckily, Alexis had a beautiful jewel-toned jumpsuit that looked lovely against her and the baby. For my moms who don’t have a maternity gown already, and feel awkward buying a dress for a one-time photoshoot, I offer a buy-back program. They can shop my Client Closet, choose any size that fits them, and I buy the clothing from them at the end of our session. It helps me grow my client closet for future mothers while letting them feel guilt-free about looking lovely in these treasured photos.

When it came time to take photos, Mom and Christian were absolutely darling. They had clearly bonded over their eight weeks together. Christian was so curious about the camera, I wondered if I was capturing a future photographer. While the photoshoot was mostly about mom and baby, we made sure to include dad in a few photos too. I think the photo of their new family was my favorite.
